Congress, Here's Your Pink Slip, You're Fired!

You're Fired!
Receiving a "pink slip" has become a metaphor for the termination of employment.
If you work for a company and you don’t do your required job, after a few confrontations, you’re fired. If you own a company and you are not satisfied with an employee’s performance, you fire them. So what happens when our elected officials don’t do their job, are they above getting fired?
We’ve tried Tea parties, calling and sending letters, yet nothing has changed. Recently World Net Daily has come up with an idea it's called "Send Congress a Pink Slip." It sends a message to all 535 members of the House and Senate that Americans don't agree with the way things are run, and they want their voices heard.
Whether you agree with their politics or not, you have to admit that this is one way of waking up those men and woman we elected to represent us on the hill.
World Net Daily’s mission statement is a ‘watchdog on government’, and Farah the editor in chief, says the “message should be clear enough for members of Congress“, and this may be the last chance to make them aware of the people’s disapproval before they destroy the country“ He continues by saying "It might be our last, best hope of stopping the madness."
The idea was originally conceived by World Net Daily Columnist, Janet Porter who wanted to sent 5 million pink slips to Congress, but the project took off so well that it has exceed their expectations. Porter said "I’m sure this has never been done before, and we're just getting started. This is unprecedented. It's a new record for getting the attention of Congress in such a short span of time."
The "pink slips" specifically warns that the sender will oppose any member of Congress who votes for more spending, legislation that restricts personal freedom and more big government programs, even this health plan, implying that the next election will speak volumes about where the people stand.
The program already has earned the endorsement of members of Congress; "We've already received thousands of pink slips in our office, and I think this is a good wake-up call for Congress," said Sen. Jim DeMint. "I'm encouraged that Americans across the country are standing up and speaking out for constitutional, limited government. Congress needs to get the message loud and clear: stop the spending, stop the takeovers, and stand up for our freedoms."
Michele Bachmann said, "The pink slips program is a great way to get the attention of members who have forgotten they will have to answer to the people next year on out-of-control spending and Washington power grabs," she continued by saying, "I support it!, And I want my constituents to know I hear them loud and clear."
The total number sent to date has passed 4 million. Many of the "pink slips" are just arriving, and I'm sure that they'll be trashed just as fast as they arrive. This may not fire Congress, but by receiving a “pink slip” they may begin to listen to the people who gave them a job, if nothing else it will make them think.

I can't think of anything more worthwhile. Thanks jiberish.

I didn't realize all 535 members would get one for $29.95. WHAT A GREAT DEAL!!!!!!!!
CHECK THIS.
It's time to act. I'm in!
yeah, now we have to make term limits for these senators and congress people..they have become elitists.
34 + 2 seats opening in 2010. Sounds like a good idea.
It is a great idea. Term limits is good but who in congress is going to propose this and present a bill? Has anyone heard or read anything recently on this that maybe interesting?
Jiberish
I love the Pink Slip Campaign; I just hope enough Americans wake up in time to enforce it for real in 2010
We need to send them a real pink slip in 2010!
Keep on hubbing!
Thanks Jib for the info. I'm signed up!
Jiberish, Great article. I too am for the pink slips. It sounds like a great plan. They sure aren't listening to us and something need to get their attention. I wish there were term limits also but I don't see that happening either.
This is good! I am in too. I love WorldNetDaily and especially Joseph Farrah. They make a lot of sense. I'd wish more people would read them.
Jiberish, you have out done yourself!! I love it! Yes I will be signing up! I know it is hard now but I believe we continue to stand against the opposition we will overcome. The difference between their side and ours is we are grounded on hard core evidence, facts and passion for this country. Lets not forget we have God on our moral side! Thanks for this!
Thumbs up, Jib! I soooo agree!!
Signing up as soon as I hit "Post Comment!" Thanks for this heads up Jiberish!!!
